This is a baseline privacy policy describing what Decisioner actually collects and does today. It is a starting point, not legal advice - have it reviewed by a lawyer before relying on it for a live product handling real user data.
Information We Collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
- Decision data: the decisions you create, including your options, criteria, weights, AI-generated analysis, and any outcomes you choose to record.
- Payment information: if and when paid plans are enabled, billing is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details ourselves.
- Communications: messages you send us through the contact form.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core service: scoring your options, generating AI analysis, and computing sensitivity results.
- To send you the decision-review email reminders you schedule for yourself.
- To respond to support or contact requests.
- To maintain account security (authentication, optional two-factor authentication).
Third-Party Services
We share data with a small number of third parties, only as needed to operate the service:
- AI Processing (Anthropic): the text of your decision - your options, criteria, and pros/cons - is sent to secure AI APIs to generate analysis, scores, and pattern insights.
- Stripe: used for payment processing on paid plans, when enabled. Stripe handles your payment details directly; we never see full card numbers.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site today.
Cookies
We use essential session cookies to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Data Retention
Your decisions and account data are retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual decisions, and you can delete your account entirely from your profile settings, which removes your account data.
Your Rights
- Access: export any decision report as a PDF at any time.
- Correction: update your account details from your profile settings.
- Deletion: delete individual decisions or your entire account at any time.
Security
We use industry-standard practices - password hashing, HTTPS in production, and optional two-factor authentication - to protect your account. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Decisioner is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to This Policy
If we materially change how we collect or use your data, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
